Window Screens
DISPOSAL INFO
Learn how to repair on your own:
Metal window screens and frames (those made from aluminum or stainless steel) can be disposed of as scrap metal. Window screens made of fiberglass or plastic (polyester) belong in the trash.
Not sure what your screen is made of? Check the durability and thickness, observe the screen’s color, or check the label. Stainless steel screens are usually shiny. Aluminum screens come in a range of colors and have a distinctive dull texture and thicker mesh compared to fiberglass. Fiberglass screens are typically only gray or black and are lighter, more pliable, and won’t dent or crease easily.
