Upcycled Paper Mache Bowl Workshop

  • Varnum Memorial Library 194 South Vermont 108 Cambridge, VT, 05444 United States (map)

Did you know that a piece of printer paper can only be recycled 5-7 times? Paper is almost as tricky as plastic to recycle; it’s made up of long fibers that get shorter and shorter every time it’s made into new products. Paper that can no longer be recycled into new paper is downcycled into materials like tissues. The fibers in tissues are too short for recycling.

In this workshop, we will discuss the benefits of reuse over recycling for conserving energy and natural resources. Attendees will have the opportunity to make their own bowl from receipts, old magazines, newspaper, or junk mail. Materials and take home resources will be provided.

To register, email outreach@lrswmd.org or call (802)888-7317 ext. 3.
